We chose to purchase the Adventure Package, which allowed us to participate in multiple thrill activities, as well as have all-day access to the gondola up and down the mountain. There are several stops along the way that offer beautiful panoramic views, but the final stop takes you to Grindelwald First at an elevation of 7,165 feet! We would  recommend that you purchase your tickets the day of, because you will want to make sure the skies are clear or it will be low visibility at the top of the mountains. However, make sure to get there early to avoid all of the lines! The activities that we enjoyed at Grindelwald First can be seen below:

Strolling through Grindelwald Village in the Summer

Beyond the adventure activities, we recommend strolling through the old village of Grindelwald and trying some of the Swiss delicacies. You cannot leave Switzerland without trying true Swiss chocolate. You can get this at any grocery store in Switzerland, but asking the locals to help you choose the best kind is the way to go. This leads us to our next tip, which is to not be afraid to buy groceries or cook at your stay in Switzerland. You will learn really quickly that eating out in Swiss villages can get really pricey. We recommend planning for a couple meals at your stay so that you can splurge on a few really quality Swiss meals. Some of our favorite restaurants to splurge at were C und M Café Bar Restaurant and Berggasthaus First (which is a stop on the Grindelwald First gondola ride). Both restaurants offer classic Swiss cuisine, such as amazing fondue! Stop, enjoy the view, and a great meal at either of these restaurants.

As you can see, Grindelwald is one Swiss village you do NOT want to skip out on! From the attractions to the beautiful sights, it is one of the most incredible places we have ever had the pleasure of visiting, and we hope you feel the same.
